Chef's Notes

NotesNote 1: In most cases, I use raw coriander seeds to make coriander powder. See post for tips on when it’s best to toast and how to toast before grinding.
Note 2: The coriander powder will remain same weight after grinding but will be less in volume (cups). (3/4 cup coriander seeds = ~2/3 cup coriander powder).

ATIIFA, said it perfectly, "Thank you so much for this detailed, well-written information on Coriander seeds." My sentiments exactly! Or almost. I'd say that it is well-written and comprehensive information... And I am very impressed with my results.
I always have simple little-questions once I do something that I figure I'll just have to find out, or not, but I believe that you covered everything, and succinctly. I feel like I'm an expert on making coriander now.
Making Indian food from scratch is very foreign and intimidating to me, but from my impression of this page I'm feeling more confident and look forward to exploring your other recipes and creating some delicious dishes. Thank you.

Thank you so much for this detailed, well-written information on Coriander seeds. What do you think about zeera powder? Do you grind hour own? Toast or not?
I will  definitely try grinding my own coriander powder.

Did you make this recipe?
