Monster Magic Cookie Bars

4.5 / 5 (2 reviews)

Monster cookies are a "kitchen sink" of the cookie world. Take all your mix-ins and make the yummiest cookies - but I've made it even easier by pressing them into cookie bars.

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Note: You can use unsalted butter here but with all the sweetness in the recipe it really is good to have to salt to counteract it. So if you use unsalted butter, you can either add 1/4 teaspoon salt to the graham cracker crumbs or sprinkle salt on top after the bars have baked.

  2. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Place butter in a microwave safe bowl and heat up for about 30-60 seconds or until melted.

I made 2 batches for a potluck using chocolate wafer cookie crumbs for the base. The first batch was good but the second batch was amazing with the addition of 1 tsp salt to the crust.

As is, they are sweet and tasty but adding a salty base brings a whole other level.

It never occurred to me to try different toppings in hello dollies/magic cookies like this, what a great idea. Imagine how slammin it would be to do white choc and PB chips and maybe some crushed honey roasted peanuts. Ughhhh need to go buy some Graham crackers Pronto! Thanks for the recipe I'm excited to try these.
