If you can't find thin cut beef slices in your store, ask a butcher at the Deli to cut them 1/4" thin. You also could buy a 3 lb Top Round beef roast, freeze for 2 hours, then slice thin. On Amazon: Knorr Fix Rouladen (Pack of 4)  Instead of tooth picks, use these stainless Steel Skewers for Meat and Poultry (4.5 Inch, Pack of 6) ----------- Rouladen can also be cooked in the "Instant Pot".  Sear the filled Rouladen on all sides in a pan. Place Rouladen on a trivet and add 2 cups of broth, 1/2 onion and tomato paste. Cook at high pressure 15 to 18 minutes depending on thickness, then a 10 minutes slow release. Remove onion, thicken the sauce, season with additional salt and pepper, beef cube. Add some red wine, and/or Worcestershire sauce at the end

Bavarian Pork Roast from my Childhood

Instant Pot recipe (1 hr): Sear the seasoned pork in vegetable oil on all sides, add the chopped vegetables and sear 2 more minutes. Add 1 cup of beer and 1 cup of water, minced onion and garlic to the IP, place pork on top of trivet, cover with caraway seeds (optional). Close lid and pressure cook on high the 3 to 4 lb roast for 55 minutes, 10 minutes slow release. (15 min. per pound). Turn the oven on broil. Place the pork into a roasting pan with fatty side up and cut a criss cross pattern on top. Brush with beer and honey mixture. Add 1 cup beer or liquid to pan and broil until the fat is crusty on top, about 10 to 15 minutes. Prepare the gravy as directed.
