It's interesting how this recipe uses shaved ice. I noticed this in the Philippines too and it was called halo halo. I guess the hot humid summers makes adding shaved ice a delightful cooling treat. My refrigerator makes crushed ice so maybe I don't have to use to use a food processor. Must give it a try.

This is very similar to iur filipino dessert, we call it Halo halo.

Pat is the name of the beans used with the shave ice, bingsu is the shaved ice :)
