This is the third biscuit recipe I've made today. The first two were total flops. They didn't rise; they both were flat, hard discs. I followed the recipe and instructions as they were listed. I was about to give up, convinced I just can't make biscuits. But I decided I'm going to try this one more time and found I had previously bookmarked this recipe. These are PERFECT!! They rose beautifully and are tender and tasty. I'll be using this recipe from now on!!
Excellent easy recipe and they taste great!
This was great! I made a half batch with Spectrum brand shortening and have used it a few times so far. I just started using an older ground beef cookbook from the early 2000's and more than a few of the recipes called for bisquik to be added to the casseroles. Within one week we had a whole elk and a half steer in our freezers so finding new ways to cook ground beef was a must. The taco casserole got the highest marks and I will be making it again, using this recipe. I appreciate that it's easy to half the recipe, especially when I'm only using 1 1/2 cups at a time.
