A super comforting and easy pizza recipe

Ingredients

  1. Knead the wheat flour, with the yoghurt, baking soda and lukewarm water in to a smooth crack free dough

  2. Cover the dough with damp cloth and set aside for 10 minutes

  3. In the mean while, heat some olive oil and the crushed garlic

  4. Once fragrant, add the canned tomatoes, salt and sugar. Let it cook, until the  tomatoes soften and the sauce thickens

  5. Switch the flame, off and add the chilli flakes and basil. Remove and set it aside

  6. Divide your dough in two parts and roll them out in thin discs. Prick the base using a fork, so that it doesn't puff up while baking

  7. Transfer the pizza bases on a baking tray, lined with parchment sheet. Pre-heat oven your oven to 220 degrees C

  8. Spread the pizza sauce evenly over the base

  9. Place the tomato slices

Chef's Notes


These proportions of ingredients, yielded two 10'' pizzas
You could also use plain flour (maida) for the pizza base in the same proportion
You can use chopped, fresh tomatoes instead of the canned one
You could also use cherry tomatoes
Sugar is added to balance the acidity of the tomatoes. You may choose to not use it
tbsp - tablespoon
tsp - teaspoon
