Chef's Notes

*Remove jalapeño seeds for less heat.
I like my pico de gallo pretty green. You can cut the cilantro in half and replace it with another half a Roma tomato if you prefer more tomato.

Some people have a genetic quirk that makes cilantro taste like soap. Unfortunately they don't enjoy this herb like some of us do (my favorite salad is simply cilantro, tomato, avocado and lime juice). As Tracy said, try subbing flat leaf Italian parsley for the cilantro in this recipe.

Absolutely LOVE pico de gallo! A summertime favorite. I'm one that loves cilantro, however my husband is not a huge fan, so I have to cut down a bit.

I really appreciate your small batch recipes! Especially desserts! Helps keep my husband from eating 2 dozen cookies! :)

We love pico! Was looking for a small batch and this was perfect for my daughter and I! Plus it's so easy to make, we'll now have it fresh all the time! The store bought is a hit or miss! I didn't have a jalapeno, so I used a serrano with the seeds out. Thanks for posting this! It's delicious!

I've never tried pico de gallo before but looks like something I would love to top my wraps with!
