Instructions

  1. Add all ingredients to a large saucepan or pot over medium-high heat and stir to combine.

  2. Once it begins bubbling, reduce heat to low and simmer. You’re looking for a frequent bubble, so if there isn’t much going on at the surface, increase heat to medium-low heat. If bubbling too vigorously, reduce heat to low.

  3. Cook, uncovered, for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally. This is 20-minute pumpkin butter, but if you have more time, leaving it on the stove for another 5-10 minutes will only deepen the flavors and thicken the texture. However, 20 minutes was about perfect!

Question: maybe the pot im using is too small? I believe its like a half gallon. But the pumkin mixture is bubbling and making little splats of mess everywhere. So, I had to cover it. I know your recipe says leave it to simmer uncovered for 20 minutes... Any tips on how to not create a mess in the kitchen but leave the pot uncovered?

TYSM! I love your recipes!!

This was delicious! I followed the recipe but the only available pumpkin purée here in the UK seemed more solid than yours (it wasn't a pie filling) so my final result was more gritty and grainy than your video. Next time should I blend the purée with some more apple juice before cooking it?

Mine tastes delicious but is more grainy/gritty than yours which looks glossy. I followed the recipe exactly. The only pumpkin purée I could find here in the UK was called "America's finest solid pack pumpkin". Next time, should I try whixzing the purée with extra apple juice in a liquidizer first before cooking?

I made this and I had a bit of trouble getting it to thicken up but when I did it was delicious! How long can it be stored in the fridge?

absolutely delicious! Will be putting this in my recipe book.. Looked for pumkin butter at 6 different places with no luck, so decided to make it myself! This taste exactly like I wanted too and exactly what I was craving.

Great recipe! Just be careful thought…I made the mistake of heating it up at too high of a heat (I have a gas stove) it turned out good in the end though!

Did you make this recipe?
