Date Cinnamon Rolls

Ingredients

• 1 egg
• 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
• 1/2 tsp salt
• 1 egg yolk
• 2 tbsp brown sugar
• 1/2 cup brown sugar
• 2 tsp cinnamon
• 1/4 cup water
• 1/4 cup unsalted butter (softened)
• 2 to 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
• 1 splash milk
• 1 to 2 cups confectioner's sugar
• 4 tbsp unsalted butter (melted and cooled)
• 1 tsp dry active yeast
• 1 large pinch cardamom
• 1/4 cup plain buttermilk
• 8 to 10 medjoor dates (pitted)
• 1/4 cup cream cheese (softened)
• 1 to 2 tbsp bourbon (or to taste)
