NotesHow much chocolate mousse does the recipe make?
The recipe will serve 4 people or make enough chocolate mousse to fill 4 ‘small’ Easter eggs (approx. 100g). However, this is dependent on the size of the chocolate eggs you use; the larger your Easter egg is the more mousse you will need to fill it.
How should I store the filled Easter eggs?
Due to the nature of the chocolate mousse, the filled Easter eggs need to be kept chilled in the fridge until you are ready to serve. If the eggs are left out at room temperature for an extended period of time, the mousse can become very soft and may not hold its shape well. I use an egg carton or egg cup to hold my filled Easter eggs in an upright position while in the fridge or serving.
How long will Easter egg chocolate mousse keep for?
If stored correctly the chocolate mousse will keep up to 4 days in the fridge.
Can the recipe be make in a smaller batch?
Yes you certainly can! The recipe quantities can easily be halved for a smaller batch, if you don’t want to make a full amount or do not have enough Easter eggs to fill.
Do I have to serve the chocolate mousse in Easter eggs?
Nope you don’t need too! I usually make a full batch of chocolate mousse and fill only the Easter eggs I need and chill and serve any leftover chocolate mousse in individual bowls. Alternatively you can make the chocolate mousse and chill and serve in a large dessert bowl.

How cute do these look! I made the chocolate mousse recipe as I could only find large easter eggs. It's so light and full of chocolate. Will be making again. Thank you for the recipe.
