  1. To make the dressing, put all of the ingredients into a jar with a tight-fitting lid; shake vigorously until well blended and emulsified. Taste and adjust seasonings, if necessary.

  2. Bring a large pot of salted water to boil. Add pasta and cook until al dente according to package directions. 3 minutes before done, add the asparagus to simmering water and continue cooking. Drain the pasta and asparagus and run under cold water.

  3. Transfer pasta and asparagus to a large bowl. Stir in the tomatoes, summer sausage, pine nuts, scallions, and Parmesan.
