WOW, is this good. I've made your Vanilla Almond and Pumpkin Spice granolas --both delicious-- but this is definitely my favorite so far. The crunchy clusters combined with the soft & chewy raisinets is terrific!
Fantastic recipe! I made it last night and found myself munching on it as a midnight snack… yum! I didn’t have coconut oil so just used olive oil. I added about 1/4 cup of shredded coconut to the mix. And I baked about 15-20 minutes, as I find the bake times on Sally’s recipes can be a little off from what I need/prefer… I have another go-to granola recipe and 15 min is perfect… so I didn’t want to overdo this one. Fun, quick, easy, and delish. Could be a fun one to make and give as a fun foodie gift!
So delicious and crunchy, just the right amount of saltiness! Thank you for the amazing recipe!
This is seriously the best chocolate granola I've ever eaten - and this is coming from a chocolate lover and avid granola eater. It's crunchy and has that delicious chocolate taste - mmm.
I made one change to the recipe; instead of using all honey for the 1/3 cup of liquid sweetener, I used about half honey and half maple syrup, with about 3/4 tsp vanilla as well. In my opinion, chocolate isn't real chocolate without a splash of vanilla!
Also, 1/2 cup of chocolate chips isn't needed. I only used about 1/4 cup, but my family actually complained that it was "too rich and too chocolate-y". (I must disagree, but omitting the chocolate took the popular vote.) It's perfectly fine without it.
I recommend turning the oven to convection bake and checking it after 10 minutes, 10 minutes, 5 minutes, 5 minutes. It may not appear crunchy enough at the end but it crisps up excellently.
All in all, I love this granola and absolutely recommend it!
