Lemon Blueberry Scones

5 / 5 (4 reviews)

Lemon blueberry scones add a bright lemony bite to breakfast. Loaded with fresh blueberries, the added glaze gives an extra lemon citrus flavor. Enjoy these any time of the year for breakfast or an afternoon snack with coffee or tea.

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. 1. Heat oven to 400. In a medium bowl combine the sugar and the zest of the whole lemon. Stir in the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Add in the cubed butter, using a pastry cutter or a fork to break up the butter into the flour. You want the flour to get to a course meal texture. Avoid using your hands, this will begin to melt the butter too much and make it too soft.

These are the best scones I have ever had. Thank you so much for sharing this recipe!

Have made these scones several times and they are excellent. Easy prep, moist, delicious. The glaze is quite sweet so I cut the powdered sugar in half which worked fine for us. I highly recommend this recipe.

I love scones and have tried many times to make them at home from scratch…..starting with my Betty Crocker cookbook in high school. Unfortunately, I have never been able to replicate the tender, flaky goodness that bakery scones have. Then, I made these scones. Yes! Finally!! These are so delicious! This is the BEST recipe I have ever used…by FAR. I just wanted to say thank you because now, finally, I can have scones at home that are just as good (maybe even better) than the bakery.

Made these again ! I used another teaspoon on zest in the scones as I wanted a little more flavor. I don't know why I have been afraid to try to make scones. These and your orange scones are the best !
