Banana Bread Waffles with Blackberries and Chocolate Chips INSIDE!!
Ingredients
Instructions
Mix all ingredients together in a food processor or blender, except the last 5 ingredients. If you do not have a food processor, mash up your banana until it is creamy, then mix together the rest of the ingredients with a large spoon or hand mixer.
After you have made your batter in your food processor or blender, pour it into a bowl and add your blackberries and chocolate chips and mix well to combine.
Now heat up your waffle iron and pour into your waffle iron (only add oil to coat if it is not a non stick waffle iron). Are you understanding me? Good.

* Don’t be afraid to use your own creativity. These are YOUR waffles. Top them with some nut butter, or chopped nuts, or honey….OR all of the above. Genius.

People! We just made these and think they are AMAZING! Sadly the first batch ended up as waffle crumbs like a few others experienced here, however with one small tweak you will get truly yummy, REAL waffles from your pre-Paleo days...we just added a few tablespoons of Tapioca starch (aka Manioc root flour...according to Mark Sisson this is technically a "safe" starch and can be considered a Paleo treat, or cheat food), but this tiny addition really provides body to the waffle so that it doesn't fall apart into crumbs. The texture and fluffy/crispy waffle-y goodness that you remember as a child...sigh! They were heavenly, and the kids devoured every last bite! My whole CrossFit/Paleo family loves you Juli! (and duh, so do I!) xoxo
We made this recipe , but put the berries on the top (after cooking). It came out just wonderfully. No problems with falling or crumbling. Thank you for a great breakfast!
Made these. What a nightmare. The whole blackberries did not work well & tore apart my waffles. Yes, I let them cook a while so they wouldn't fall apart, almost to burning. Fail.
