Instructions

  1. First, place the stainless steal container into the Instant Pot.

  2. Next, put 1/2 cup water, 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar into the container.

  3. After that, place a trivet or steamer basket into the container.

  4. Next, take your ribs and place them on a flat surface. Sprinkle the top half with my homemade BBQ seasoning. If you don’t have the individual seasonings you can opt for some pre-made BBQ rub.

  5. Now with your fingers or a spoon, rub the seasoning into the ribs.

  6. Place the ribs on the trivet or steamer basket.

  7. Put on the IP lid. Make sure that the vent is set to sealed.

I made these for my husband who is a super picky eater and he loved them! I didn’t tell him Apple cider vinegar was involved (he wouldn’t have eaten them if he knew), and he had absolutely no idea. I broiled mine on high for 10 minutes with BBQ sauce and it turned out great! A new staple in our household. Easy, quick and yummy

The whole family enjoys these. I have made them several times and follow the recipe to a T. I leave the membrane on, and do the broil after cooking with Sweet Baby Ray’s bbq sauce. They are delicious and rarely have any leftovers!

I forgot to add in my other comment I'm not sure why people remove the membrane? unless they don't like the taste. The meat cooks fine with it. I usually just make a slit through the membrane to help the meat cook. Too much of a hassle taking it off in my opinion. I think it tastes good especially on pork ribs, but I like it on beef as well. I'll definitely be following this recipe again just trying to figure out the vinegar situation..I know it breaks down the meat, but too overwhelming.

The ribs did fall apart as promised(I did ads a little time did 30 minutes instead of 22 since I had almost 5lb.

THe issue was the ribs tasted like vinegar and I don't really care for vinegar. I think I'll opt out the vinegar or perhaps try white vinegar as white vinegar seems to be less strong? They taste alright though. But even with the bbq sauce had a little hint of vinegar although it did help mask it a little. Otherwise this is a great recipe.

Please forgive me for not using your rub on my beef ribs. I’d actually used a different rub recipe, which is, I would say in the same flavor profile as yours, but then realized it would take way too long to cook in the oven. Finding your recipe for the instant pot was perfect. My ribs turned out fantastic and my husband is still raving about how tender they were and wants me to get some more to make again already. Incredibly tender and flavorful! These are the best ribs I've ever made. Thank you so much!

love this recipe! the only tweaks I did was seasoned my beef back aka Dinosaur ribs over night in the fridge and I added just a touch of liquid smoking no oil. I let mine pressure cook for 30 minutes on high and then 10 minute natural release. I also add sauce on it and air crisped for 5-6 minute in my ninja.

Easy and Tasty!
I am curious about the food science of the Apple Cider Vinegar; Since the vinegar never touches the ribs, what and how does it add to the process? (I'm under the impression that the instant pot makes steam and cooks with it but nothing but H2O is in steam-- but then again that's just my public school education talking)

Amazing. I could eat these everyday.

Just finished eating. Prepared exactly by your recipe. They turned out real good, but not quite as tender as I expected. Putting them under the broiler the right way to finish them off. We will cook again. Thanks for the recipe!
