Instructions
Cook pasta in salted boiling water according to directions on package. Reserve a little pasta water to thin sauce later on if desired. Drain pasta well.
While macaroni is cooking, melt butter in a pot over medium heat. Add in flour and garlic powder and cook, whisking constantly for 2 minutes.
Slowly pour in milk while whisking, then once all of the milk has been added whisk somewhat vigorously to smooth any little lumps.
Add in cream cheese and mustard and cook, whisking constantly until cream cheese has melted and mixture has thickened well.

*This is 10 oz. florets. It should be mostly the head of the broccoli and little stem. Cook it first until fully tender then chop finely after. You can steam it or boil it in the water for about 4 - 5 minutes then remove before adding in the pasta to boil.
**I like my mac and cheese somewhat mild, if you'd prefer a strong flavor feel free to add in more cheddar.

Loved this, thankyou! My 2 year old also loved it 🙂 I used lentil pasta so it was even healthier - yummo!
Just a note- 3 and a half Tablespoons of butter is very hard to measure, weight would've been handy!
Easy, quick and tasty! I like to add a few more spices, depending on my energy that day and if any little ones are going to be eating. The only big change I make is to use gluten free pasta.
Made this tonight- I added a couple seasonings, but otherwise followed the recipe to a T and it was so good!! Husband went back for seconds and thirds!
Have you ever tried freezing leftovers?
Thank you so much for having a "jump to recipe" button. All of these blogs always talk about their life story before posting the actual recipe, and while some people enjoy that, I won't judge, I'm not one of them. I appreciate that very much, nice recipe by the way, tasted delicious!
