Q: What is the difference between Korean radish and daikon radish?
A: In terms of appearance, the Japanese daikon radish tends to be skinnier and longer and does not have a pale green gradient at the top. As to flavor and texture, I've found that daikon radishes are far less sweet and are not as crunchy.
Q: Is spicy Korean radish salad vegan?
A: In general, no. Spicy Korean radish salad or musaengchae usually contains fish sauce, making it inappropriate for a vegan diet. However, you can use vegan fish sauce or omit fish sauce altogether to make it suitable for a vegan diet.
Q: What does a Korean radish taste like?
A: Korean radish is a white radish that is longer and wider than its Western counterparts. The tops are pale green, while the bottoms sprout into a skinny tail. They are sometimes called "Joseon radish" and impart a sweet, but also noticeably "green" flavor. They are quite crunchy in texture.

I didn’t know what I was getting into…. Oooohhh this is spicy!! And sweet! And addictive! Very easy to make, much less easy to find the plum syrup…
I just made this and it’s SO delicious! I couldn’t stop eating it right from the bowl! I subbed the plum syrup for agave and only used 2 tbsp. I added the sesame oil and sesame seeds. No complaints, cannot wait to eat this throughout the week!!
Thank you, 😍
The yangyeom is perfect! Turned out really great except I didn’t prepare enough radish for the amount of yangyeom I had, so I saved the extra to make another batch later on. Really appreciate how easy and delicious this recipe is!
Love it :)
