Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Place the flank steak fillets in a large ziplock bag.

  2. In a bowl combine the olive oil, lime juice, orange juice, red wine vinegar, brown sugar, minced garlic, salt and Worcestershire sauce. Stir to combine.

  3. Pour the marinade over the flank steak and close the ziplock bag tightly.

  4. Shake to cover and place in the refrigerator for 2 to 24 hours.

  5. Preheat your grill to very hot.

  6. Using tongs, remove the meat from the marinade and place on the grill. Brush with BBQ sauce.

  7. Leave the meat on the grill for 5 to 10 minutes, then flip it over. Brush the other side with BBQ sauce.

  8. Let it grill for an additional 5 to 10 minutes. If you like your meat a bit rarer, 5 to 7 minutes per side is good.

This was absolutely fabulous! Next time I'll save a little of the marinade and warm it up to serve with the cooked steak! I wish I had brought some horseradish, that would have been great!

I too was a bit confused with your wording. As I did know you meant a thin slab and not sliced, I have never seen flank steak ‘filet” that I’m aware of. I’ve always just used it the way it comes from the butcher. I did think for a minute if I should filet it myself but chose to prepare as is and worked just fine. Delicious BTW!
