Finished Spiderweb Cupcakes (Pumpkin Spice Cupcakes with Maple Cream Cheese Frosting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line muffin tins with liners and set aside.

  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves.

  3. In the bowl of an electric mixer, cream the butter and sugars until light and fluffy on medium speed, about 3 minutes. Add the pumpkin puree and mix until combined. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well before each addition. Scrape bowl as needed.

  4. Reduce the speed to low and slowly add the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.

  5. Divide batter into prepared baking liners. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

  6. In the bowl of an electric mixer, beat butter and cream cheese on medium high until completely smooth about 2-3 minutes.
