Instructions

  1. Position a rack in the center of the oven and preheat the oven to 350ºF.

  2. Place the hazelnuts on a baking tray and spread them out into a single layer. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until they brown lightly. Remove the tray at the 5 minute mark and give the nuts a toss for evening browning. Let the nuts cool for 10 minute before proceeding.

Chef's Notes

Notes
for the oil: You can use a variety here, hazelnut, avocado, olive oil, vegetable oil, canola, walnut, coconut – they almost all work!
For the chocolate: Though chocolate chips will work for this recipe, I always find that they are harder to melt than chocolate bars/discs broken into pieces.

Great recipe! I add 1.5 tbsp of milk powder. I believe it brings the flavour out more.

Just made Nutella today. Used already toasted hazelnuts from Trader Joe’s. And used black cocoa. O my goodness. Of course I followed the recipe and ingredients. The black cocoa was absolutely amazing. I then used the Nutella for brownies. Great recipe.

Easy to make.  Had all ingredients on hand.  Used Bakers brand semi-sweet chocolate bar.  Tastes absolutely delicious!

Hi I made the "Nutella" recipe.
I use a sugar that was too coarse next time I will use powder sugar.
My family likes it more than the "real one"
What I like is No preservatives!
Thank yoy

This was super easy, thank you. I used 80xz of chocolate, no oil, and just a 1/4 cup of sugar and it worked perfectly.

I've made this recipe so many times and it is beautiful. Super smooth and delicious even without the sugar and oil. Thank you for the recipe!

I made it without the oil and sugar and it seems just fine. Absolutely delicious and has far more depth in terms of flavour!
