Ingredients

Instructions

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, add 2 teaspoons of the olive oil, onion, garlic and ground beef and pork. Season with salt and pepper. Brown the meat and the onion, about 5 minutes. Remove from the heat, and cool to mix with cheese filling.

  2. Cook the manicotti in a large pot of heavily salted boiling water for 6 minutes. Drain and gently toss with a little olive oil to keep from sticking and allow to cool.

  3. Combine ricotta cheese, 2 cups mozzarella cheese, 1/2 cup Parmesan, parsley and nutmeg. Mix well and stir the cooled meat mixture into the cheese mixture. Set aside.

  4. Preheat the oven to 350°F.

  5. Drizzle the remaining 2 teaspoons of oil in a 13x9 baking dish to coat. Spoon 1 1/2 cups of the spaghetti (marinara) sauce over the bottom of the dish.

I really like this recipe, but it doesn't list how much butter to use. How much do I use? Thank you.

I made your manicotti several months ago and it was fantastic! I want to serve this on Christmas. Do you think I can put everything together the day before and bake it the next day on Christmas? Thanks Kevin...great recipe!

Absolutely delicious. I made sure to break up the meat very small so it would be easy to pipe the shells tightly with the mixture & efficiently. I had just enough mixture for all 14 shells, worked perfectly. So yummy. 👌😋

Turned out absolutely amazing! But I did have lots of the cheese /meat mixture left over... Can I freeze this for later use?

Great taste, but tried piping with the bag and it didn't work well for me . It might have worked ok if the filling was cheese only and no meat.. Used small spoon instead. Too time consuming to fill , so I probably won't make again .
